BookLook RI

Overview

BookLook RI is designed with user privacy in mind. The app does not collect, store, or share any personal data.

Search Data

When you search for a book, your query is sent directly to the Ocean State Libraries catalog and nowhere else. BookLook RI does not log, store, or transmit your searches to any third party.

Location Data

The app may request access to your device's location to show nearby libraries on the map. Your location data is only shared with your platform's maps service (Apple Maps on iOS, Google Maps on Android) when you use the map feature. Location data is never collected or stored by BookLook RI.

Analytics & Tracking

BookLook RI does not use any analytics services, advertising frameworks, or tracking tools. There are no cookies, no fingerprinting, and no user profiles.

Third-Party Services

The app communicates with the following services solely to provide its core functionality:

• Ocean State Libraries (OSLRI) — to search the library catalog
• Apple Maps / Google Maps — to display library locations on the map (depending on platform)

Children's Privacy

Because BookLook RI does not collect any data, it is safe for use by children. No information about any user, regardless of age, is ever collected.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
