BookLook RI

Overview

BookLook RI is designed with privacy in mind. The app does not collect, store, or share any personal data.

Search Data

When you search for a book, your query is sent directly to the Ocean State Libraries catalog and nowhere else. BookLook RI does not log, store, or transmit your searches to any third party.

Location Data

If you grant location access, your location is shared with Apple Maps (iOS) or Google Maps (Android) when you view search results containing lists of libraries. Location data is never collected or stored by BookLook RI.

If you do not grant location access, only one feature will be disabled: the option to sort libraries by distance or drive time.

Analytics & Tracking

BookLook RI does not use any analytics services, advertising frameworks, bug reporting, or tracking tools. There are no cookies, no fingerprinting, and no user profiles. The app runs completely on your phone, and does not use any additional server or backend infrastructure that could be used to track you, besides the third-party services listed below.

Third-Party Services

The app only connects to two external services:

• Ocean State Libraries (OSLRI): to search the library catalog
• Apple Maps / Google Maps: to display library locations on the map (depending on platform), and optionally calculate distance

Children's Privacy

No information about any user, regardless of age, is ever collected.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
